Marcus O'Loughlin was diagnosed with autism at a young age. He retreats into his own world when he becomes overstimulated. This is the story of Marcus and his family.
"There is still this hole in our community and our society that exists for adults with autism. It does not stop at age 18, it's not something you grow out of," Erin O'Loughlin, Marcus' mother, said.
One in every 88 children is being diagnosed with autism. Erin is concerned that "10-15 years from now we're going to have a huge problem on our hands. Not all of them are severe enough where they are going to need constant intervention and services for the rest of their lives, but many of them are."
This story was also edited into a photostory called The House Autism Built.
